Abstract

Kejadian atau insiden infeksi jamur invasif semakin meningkat di berbagai negara. Penyakit yang penyebabnya jamur disebut mikosis. Mikosis yang memiliki insiden paling tinggi ialah dermatofitosis dan kandidiasis. Kandidiasis merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh spesies jamur Candida albicans. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak kulit buah mahoni memiliki aktivitas antijamur. Metode yang digunakan ini yaitu metode ekstraksi sokletasi dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dan pengujian antijamur terhadap Candida albicans. Hasil rendemen yang diperoleh sebanyak 4%. Aktivitas antijamur dari ekstrak kulit mahoni semua konsentrasi tidak memiliki zona hambat bahwa ekstrak kulit mahoni tidak mempunyai aktivitas antijamur pada konsentrasi 5%, 25%, 45%, 65%, 85% dan 100%.
